Some history of the action age scrambler

1969 Scrambler: I was demonstrator and mechanic with these machines while my dad was the sales manager of eastern slope distributing in Billings, Mt. First machine was a 7hp briggs & straten pull start. Second machine was a 8hp b&s pull start with optional electric start. Third machine as a tecumseh 12hp electric start. The 12hp machine was clocked at 40mph with the right amount of air in the tires, and it could fly with the soft tires back then. 1974 action age closed it's doors. 1976 I looked into purchasing the molds and equipment to continue the machine but military abligations took priorty. 1980 scrambler manufacturing was created in Genoa, Oh. and started producing the scrambler with a 16hp tecumseh with electric start and reverse. I bought a demonstrator, with tracks and became the distributor for Wi.. Machine was about 300lbs heavier (give or take) due to the amount of fibreglass used in the new molds. The older models did not really need reverse due to the light weight. You could pick up the front and spin it around with out any effort. The new machines had a reverse option that use teeth attached to the right clutch disc and an electric starter motor to move it. Mild steel strip out after the first couple of uses. The covington chains that were used broke and engine frame broke. This was due to the extra weight. Run it for an hour and work on it for an two hours. I will be posting pics and if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.
